EOSC-Pillar is a Horizon 2020 project funded by the European Commission that coordinates national initiatives in Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Belgium to build an Open Science and FAIR data-based European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

AUSSDA is coordinating an extensive study that is part of the three-year project. The EOSC aims to provide European researchers and professionals in science, technology, humanities and social sciences with a virtual platform for storing, managing, analysing, transporting and re-using research data across national borders and scientific disciplines. To this end, EOSC will bring together the existing national data infrastructures. Open science infrastructures such as AUSSDA at the University Library of Vienna are already important national actors contributing to the development of Open Science and FAIR data initiatives.

AUSSDA participates in the Work Packages The Human Factor of the EOSC - Dissemination, Outreach and Community building (WP2), National Initiatives Survey 6 (WP3), From National Initiatives to Transnational Services (WP4), The Data Layer: Establishing FAIR Data Services at the National and Transnational Level (WP5) and EOSC in Action: Use Cases and Community-driven pilots (WP6).
